Meet our Staff:
Carol Ludwig
Loyola University and Sacred Heart University spiritual direction formation programs, and is on staff of the Audire Spiritual Direction training program at the Orlando diocesan San Pedro Center for Spiritual Development.
A career diplomat in the Foreign Service of the United States before she came to Florida, Carol has lived for extended periods in Japan, Italy, Mexico and the Philippines. Both her experience abroad and her educational background helped develop her expertise in interpersonal and intercultural communication. Her Master's degree from the University of Dayton is in Asian and American history, and she completed doctoral studies in international communications at the American University in Washington, D.C.
Carol offers individual and group spiritual direction, guided retreats, facilitates personal spiritual growth groups, staff retreats and days of recollection. Her primary interest is feminine spirituality. Carol can be reached at 772-567-1233, ext. 3, or by e-mail: centerspiritualcare@gmail.com.
Mary Burkins - Office Administrator
Mary has been working part-time for the Center for Spiritual Care since February 2019. She and her late husband, Jim, had been active members of the Center when Jim passed away in December of 2018. It was then that Mary decided to leave teaching for a while. She comes to the Center with over 13 years’ experience teaching in the elementary and middle schools, and 12 years’ experience in social work. In addition to maintaining the membership database, Mary works alongside Carol Ludwig to help maintain the operation of the Center and promote its growth and wellbeing.
